Privacy Policy

What is all this jibba jabba?

This website address is: https://theefunklord.com. It is a place for creative ventures and experiments in code, design, and music.

Cookies

There may be cookies in use. They are functional unless otherwise noted. You can certainly choose to opt-out, as these should not affect site functionality.

These yummy cookies (if in use) contain basic data and are discarded when you close your browser. They are in place for tracking (security) purposes, and may or may not have chocolate chips.

LocalStorage and SessionStorage

LocalStorage is in use on this site, purely for functionality purposes. This information pertains only to the privacy alert (the yellow strip at the bottom of the page, on first visit), and is logged as a benefit to your user experience.

The localstorage session is one that can be, and is, reset when you clear your browser data/information. You can feel free to block this storage option, but it may negatively affect your browsing experience (You may encounter the privacy alert message on every page visit, which you really don’t need to do if you’ve read this page, since it links from that message– but I’ll take care of that functionality later)

SessionStorage is in use on this site, purely for functionality purposes. This information pertains to the loading animation (“splash page”), for each browsing session- as well as the music player. This is logged as a benefit to your user experience.

A browsing session is considered to be each new window (or tab) you open when visiting a page from this website. You can feel free to block this sessionstorage option, but it may negatively affect your browsing experience (You may encounter the loading animation on every page visit, which isn’t fun).

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

We do include tracking information, provided by the server host (who happens to be a really funky guy, by some odd coincidence). We track malicious IPs, and occasionally review data to find out where visitors are coming from (IP-based geolocation). We do not share your data with anyone.

How long we retain your data

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. Of course, nobody can register here, but at least that page filler looks really nice.

Note: Some of that is legal mumbo jumbo which does not apply to the LocalStorage and SessionStorage mentioned in the earlier section; as storage stuff is stored within your browser, per your personal settings and/or session time.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. None of this should apply to you reading this, since you can’t register for the site, haha. But I have to cover my buns, as they say. After reading all of that, I think you have earned a sandwich.
